The Monitoring and Evaluating
Climate Communication and Education Project

The Project

The MECCE Project is  an ambitious international research partnership of over 100 leading scholars and agencies. Our goal is to advance global climate literacy and action through improving the quality and quantity of climate change education, training, and public awareness.

CCE Country Profiles

A partnership between the UNESCO Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report and MECCE Project is generating new insight into how countries are approaching climate change communication and education (CCE). The detailed country profiles offer a comparative perspective of country progress on ACE and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Targets 4.7 and 13.3.

The first set of 20 country profiles are now available on the MECCE Project and the GEM Report’s Profiles Enhancing Education Reviews (PEER) websites.

Funded Case STudies

We are funding Case Studies of innovative climate change communication and education (CCE) to  help inform global understandings of what constitutes quality CCE. Successful proposals will receive up to $10,000 CAD to conduct high quality research. Learn more about the Call for Proposals now.

Global CCE Blog

The MECCE Project’s CCE blog focuses on emerging issues in climate communication  and education. We draw on our findings, as well as material from other projects and sources, to respond to the rapidly evolving policy environment and public discourse on climate communication and education.

Digital Library

The MECCE Project’s Digital Library is a multilingual open access repository for the projects materials, including policy briefs, factsheets, guidelines, infographics, reports, and videos

Regional Hubs

This network of interactive groups was designed to support regional collaboration, input, and action in relation to climate communication and education. The Regional Hubs are networking forums that both enable regional input into the Project, and offer opportunities for sharing and mobilising Project impacts.

Global Monitoring Tools

These interactive open access tools will offer users the ability to interact with and visualize the MECCE Project’s data. These data include country profiles, global datasets on a range of CCE aspects, and other data platforms which governmental, intergovernmental, and civil society members can use to help track and target set on CCE in relation to their countries.
